Shelby County, Kentucky is known as the Saddlebred Capital of the World and that leads to many great horse farm opportunities. The gently rolling hills and cleared pastures make Shelby County the ideal place to build your Equine operation. Shelbyville is also home to the Shelbyville Horse Show which is held in the first weekend of August. With it’s history and love of horses it’s easy to understand why the county is attractive to horse owners, breeders and trainers of every breed of horse.
Shelbyville is convieniently located between Louisville and Lexington. Within a 15 minute drive you can be in the Greater Louisville Metro Area.
Shelby County is also the home to two equestrian communities, Equestrian Lakes and Majestic Oaks. Both of these communities offer riding trails and barn facilities.
